The aim of this study was investigation of association between Prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus and Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) including Angina and Heart Failure with Shift Work in Adults of Shahedieh cohort study in Yazd.</span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph"><span style="line-height:normal"><span calibri="" style="font-family:"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""><span style="color:black">Materials and Methods</span></span></span></b><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""><span style="color:black">:</span></span></span></b> <span style="font-size:10.5pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">The data of this study were from the cross-sectional phase of the Shahedieh Cohort Study. The data of 9513 participants in the study were used to analyze the data. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 software. Chi-square test was used to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables and t-test was used to compare means. Binary logistic regression was also used for statistical modeling. Significance level less than 0.05 were considered.</span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph"><span style="line-height:normal"><span calibri="" style="font-family:"><b><span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Results:</span></span></b> <span style="font-size:10.5pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">Our subjects&#39; shift work prevalence was 6.7% (n=<i> </i>633). The crude odds ratio of shift work was calculated for diabetes mellitus and CHD (OR=<i> </i>0.38, CI: 0.28-0.51) and (OR=<i> </i>0.52, CI: 0.36-0.72) respectively, which were statistically significant. But by adjusting age and sex, the odds ratio reached (OR=<i> </i>0.75, CI: 0.55-1.01) and (OR=<i> </i>0.86, CI: 0.57-1.28) respectively which was not statistically significant. By adjusting other confounders, the odds ratio reached (OR=<i> </i>0.76, CI: 0.55-1.04) for diabetes and (OR=<i> </i>0.84, CI: 0.55-1.28) for CHD.</span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph"><span style="line-height:normal"><span calibri="" style="font-family:"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""><span style="color:black">Conclusion</span></span></span></b><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""><span style="color:black">:</span></span></span></b> <span style="font-size:10.5pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">No significant association was found between shift work with diabetes and CHD in our study.
